Vehicle brands

The brands we work with

From dealer recon lanes and retail customers alike — each brand links to how we plan repairs for it.

Brand names shown identify the vehicles we work on and the franchises of the dealerships we serve. All trademarks belong to their respective owners; their appearance here does not imply sponsorship, affiliation, or manufacturer certification. For verified credentials, see our certifications page.

Why GEM Collision

A more organized collision-repair experience.

Collision repair goes wrong through disorganization more often than bad workmanship. Our answer is structure.

  • One plan, one team

Estimate, parts, body, paint, calibration, and delivery coordinated as a single repair plan — not a chain of hand-offs.

  • Written, explained estimates

Every estimate in writing, every line explained, and honest labeling of what may change after disassembly.

  • Insurance handled with you

We help coordinate the claim and document supplements. You stay in control; the insurer decides coverage.

  • Vehicle-specific repairs

Repair plans built from the vehicle maker's repair information — not habit.

  • Electronics taken seriously

Scanning brackets the repair, and calibration happens when the vehicle's procedures require it.

  • Status without chasing

Updates as the vehicle moves through each stage, and answers when you ask.

  • Honesty about limits

If a repair can't be completed properly here, we say so and help you find where it can.

Credentials

Certifications & technology

Credentials are being verified.

We only list certifications we can currently document — with the issuer and expiration shown. This section will populate as each credential clears verification, and each will link to a plain-English explainer of what it covers.

Insurance

You choose the shop. We help manage the repair.

California law puts the choice of repair shop with you — and coverage decisions with your insurer. Here's the part we take off your plate:

  • Sharing the estimate, photos, and repair documentation with your insurer
  • Documenting supplements when disassembly reveals hidden damage
  • Answering the adjuster's technical questions
  • Keeping you informed so nothing surprises you at pickup

What we can't do — and won't pretend to: decide coverage, promise claim approval, or speak for your insurer.

Vehicle expertise

Repairs planned for your specific vehicle

For every make, we evaluate the vehicle and damage against the maker's repair information — and determine honestly whether the repair can be completed properly here.

FAQ

Quick answers

Can my insurance company make me use their shop?

No. In California, you have the right to choose the repair shop. An insurer may recommend shops in its network, but the decision is yours, and an insurer cannot require you to use a specific shop. We help coordinate with your insurer wherever you choose to have the vehicle repaired.

Your right to choose

Can you give me an estimate from photos?

Yes — with an honest caveat. A photo estimate is preliminary: it covers what's visible in your photos. Final repair requirements may change after inspection and disassembly, which is normal for collision repair. Photos are the fastest way to get the process started.

Start your estimate

How long will my repair take?

It depends on the vehicle, the damage, parts availability, and insurance approval timelines — so we don't quote a number before we've seen the vehicle. What we do promise: a written repair plan, status updates as the vehicle moves through each stage, and early warning if anything changes the timeline.

See the repair process

What is a repair supplement?

A supplement is additional repair cost documented after the initial estimate — usually because disassembly revealed damage that couldn't be seen from outside. Supplements are a normal part of collision repair. We document them with photos and submit them to your insurer; coverage decisions remain with the insurer.

How supplements work

Will you use OEM parts?

Part types depend on the repair plan, your insurance policy, and your choices. New OEM, aftermarket, and recycled parts each have a place, and California law gives you specific disclosure rights about which are used. We explain what the plan calls for and what your options are before work begins.

OEM vs. aftermarket

When do I pay my deductible?

Your deductible is your share of an insured repair, set by your policy, and it's typically paid to the shop when you pick up the vehicle. If another driver's insurance is paying, there may be no deductible at all. We'll walk you through what applies to your claim.

Deductibles explained

Why does my car need scanning or calibration?

Modern vehicles run dozens of computers, cameras, and sensors. A collision — or the repair itself — can leave fault codes or knock safety systems out of alignment without any warning light. Pre- and post-repair scans document the vehicle's electronic state, and calibration is performed when the vehicle maker's procedures require it.

Scanning & calibration

My car isn't drivable. What do I do?

Don't drive a vehicle with deployed airbags, leaking fluids, damaged suspension, or anything you're unsure about. We can help coordinate towing to the shop — tell us where the vehicle is and we'll take it from there, and we'll confirm who performs the tow and any fees before it's dispatched.
